The movement routines are increasing my pain, is this normal?

Sometimes (especially in the earlier stages of the program), the movement routines can create an increase in pain and other symptoms. Why is this? Should you immediately stop?
Watch this video, where Dr. Bri explains how your body can unconsciously react to new movements and stretches by returning to the "known" of its previous state (even if that state was tension and pain). This often occurs when you start releasing chronically tight muscles and moving your body in new ways.
Consistency will help you get over this initial hump in your Overcome journey. Remember the motto "sore but safe" when observing your own symptoms and deciding on how to move forward.
Reactive tension and/or soreness will typically fall away after a period of time, but may come back at different phases on your journey of recovery. Recovery is like a game of "Chutes and Ladders (Snakes and Ladders)," where you move up some, and then back a little, then up and back some — rather than a perfect, straight, linear line of healing progress. Love your body and trust in the process.
